Police and Crime Commissioners elections

The Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 allows for police authorities in England and Wales, apart from London, to be replaced with directly elected Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs), with the aim of improving police accountability. Voters in England and Wales will go to the polls on 15 November 2012 to elect their first 41 PCCs.
