The voting age for Scottish elections has been permanently lowered to 16
The Scottish Elections (Reduction of Voting Age) Act enables 16 and 17 year olds in Scotland to vote at Scottish elections.
If you will be 16 or over by 5 May 2016 you'll be able to vote at the 2016 Scottish Parliament election and future local government elections. You won't be able to vote at UK or European Parliament elections until you are 18.
In order to vote you must be registered.
