Can I register to vote in the UK?
- If you are a citizen of the European Union, you can
register to vote in the UK.
- Elections can be called at any time, so make sure you're
registered so you can have your say.
What elections can I vote in?
- EU citizens can vote in local elections and European
Parliamentary elections, except for citizens of the Republic of
Ireland, Cyprus and Malta who are eligible to vote in all UK
elections.
- To vote in European Parliamentary elections in the UK rather
than your home country you must also have filled in an
additional form. If you're unsure, please check with your local
electoral registration office.
- Elections to the European Parliament take place every five
years and the most recent took place on 4 June
2009.
